Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, and confusion into clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
It turns problems into gifts, failures into successes, unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events.
Gratitude makes sense for our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. Gratitude makes things right. ~ Melodie Beattie
Knowing what I know now about colonization and marginalization of Indigenous people, Thanksgiving for me has simply become a day to revel in gratitude for all the wonders of my life. My family, my pets, my friends, my community, my home, my health, yesterday’s powder skiing, my chaotic brain, and a frig full of food.
I am most thankful for you, dear reader, whose curiosity and compassion motivate me to create.
Have a wonderful, restful, grateful day.
Lovely poem, Sue. Grateful for your words.
Happy holidays Sue.
